Trouble with Mail 6.5

Mail Version 6.5 (1508) Slow and not functioning properly

My Mac Mail program keeps acting up to where it doesn’t display the mail text in the reading pane. I came across this thread with the instructions to fix it. However, the fix doesn’t seem permanent.
